Prayer before a Crucifix
Lord Jesus,
I will freely and lovingly accept my cross.
I will carry it
with humility and meekness,
in penance and atonement
for my own sins,
and for the good of all those
who cause me pain.
I shall accept the cross
and carry it with joy in union with you.
Amen.
