Prayer for Unity

Lord,
Grant me the virtues
that promote unity,
as St. Paul teaches us:
humility, gentleness, patience,
and loving readiness to serve.

I want to grow
in the spirit of gratitude and adoration.
I desire to develop a caring,
tender, and strong love,
in order to bring about unity and peace.
I will forgive seventy times seven
and convert myself
wherever I am weak or at fault.

Give me the grace of genuine contrition,
a contrition that brings me ever closer
to your redemptive and merciful love
and that urges me on
to acts of penitential love.
Grant that I may thus be for others
a reflection of your love.
